Frequently Asked Questions
What is your pricing structure?
My rate is $180 per session. I do have some ability to provide sliding scale rates on a case by case basis.
Do you take insurance?
At this time I do not take insurance, however there are a few options that may be available to you if you would like to use your insurance.
I am partnered with Avedkit who can help you determine if you can use your out of network benefits. You can contact Advekit here or by emailing a copy of your insurance card (front and back) and your date of birth to email@example.com.
I am also happy to supply you with a super bill that you can provide directly to your insurance company for reimbursement. For specific details you would need to contact your insurance carrier directly.
What kinds of clients do you work with?
I currently work with adolescents, adults, couples and families who reside in California. My expertise is in stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, LGBTQI issues, relationship troubles, grief & bereavement, and end of life concerns. I generally do not treat children under the age of 12 years old.
What is your approach to therapy?
I am strengths based, empowering and sex positive. I work hard to ensure that the session is safe and non-judgemental. I start with where you are in your own process. I am a generalist practitioner who will bring in elements of various therapy approaches depending on your needs. I enjoy employing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Informed Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Solution Focused Therapy. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a treatment model that works to resolve trauma.
Do you have a No Show/Cancellation policy?
Yes. I require 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will need to pay for the appointment. An occasional exception may be made in the case of an emergency. It’s important that we meet consistently in order to make progress.
Are my sessions confidential?
Yes. I take confidentiality very seriously. The only time I cannot legally keep sessions confidential is if I am worried about your safety or the safety of someone else. We will discuss this more in depth together before we begin therapy.
Are there any issues or types of clients that you do NOT work with?
I do not work with children under 12 years of age. I do not conduct child custody evaluations nor do I provide custody recommendations. I also do not provide treatment for eating disorders or psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, etc). Due to state licensing laws, I can only provide therapeutic services to individuals residing in California at this time.
